Peace and Migration – GovUnet2026 Successfully Completed

From 13 to 18 July 2026, the Peace and Migration – GovUnet2026 Summer School was successfully held on the island of Oinousses, bringing together students, researchers, academics, and professionals from different countries and disciplines for six days of learning, dialogue, and collaboration.

The Summer School focused on the multifaceted relationship between peace and migration, examining how conflict, structural violence, and geopolitical developments influence migration, while also highlighting the important contribution of migrants and diasporas to peacebuilding, reconstruction, and sustainable development.

Participants explored key issues including migration governance, human rights, social cohesion, peacebuilding processes, and the role of regional and international organizations in addressing contemporary security challenges. Through lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions, the programme encouraged interdisciplinary dialogue, critical thinking, and the exchange of ideas among participants with diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

The successful completion of Peace and Migration – GovUnet2026 marks another important step in fostering international academic cooperation and meaningful discussion on issues that remain at the forefront of today’s global agenda.

We would like to sincerely thank all participants, lecturers, speakers, collaborators, and everyone who contributed to the success of the Summer School. We hope the knowledge gained, the discussions held, and the connections established during the programme will continue to inspire future collaboration and research.

We look forward to welcoming you again in future editions of the Summer School.
