Two Greek projects have achieved a significant distinction by being selected among the 25 finalists of the REGIOSTARS Awards 2026, which recognize the most innovative and impactful regional development initiatives across Europe.
The two Greek finalists are:
- Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System (INGS), in the “A Connected Europe” category. Learn more about the project: https://www.gastrade.gr/the-project/

Reaching the final stage is an important achievement, as the two projects were selected from a total of 274 applications submitted by 27 European countries, highlighting the value of EU co-funded initiatives and their contribution to sustainable development.
The final evaluation by the jury will take place on 13 October 2026 during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels, while the winners will be announced on 14 October 2026.
In addition, from 3 September to 14 October 2026, the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite project through the Public Choice Award.
