From 3 to 5 July 2026, Polichnitos, Skala Polichnitou and Nifida will host the first Polichnitos Cultural Festival Lesvos, a new cultural initiative that aspires to become a landmark event for Lesvos and the North Aegean. Bringing together more than 30 artists from over 10 countries, the festival creates a vibrant platform where art, local communities, and international cultural dialogue come together.
Centered around the theme “Memories”, the festival explores how places, people, traditions, and shared experiences shape our collective identity. Through photography, film, music, art installations, guided walks, and interactive workshops, public spaces are transformed into open venues for creativity, participation, and cultural exchange.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy open-air film screenings, photography exhibitions, live music performances, hands-on workshops, guided tours highlighting the region’s cultural and natural heritage, and activities that showcase local gastronomy, the island’s fishing traditions, and the unique character of southern Lesvos.
This initiative demonstrates how culture can serve as a bridge between different communities and cultures, strengthening civic participation, social cohesion, and the promotion of cultural heritage through collaboration and international engagement.
