EIB Investment Survey 2025

Each year, the EIB Investment Survey provides a snapshot of the issues facing EU firms, and their ability to invest and grow. While the survey looks at trends across the European Union, it also homes in on individual countries and provides detailed information on how companies are weathering challenges such as a tougher trading environment, the strain of climate change and the need to innovate and improve digitalisation as technology evolves rapidly.

Some highlights of findings in individual countries:

  • Danish firms continue to show very strong investment performance, with 98% of firms investing.
  • In Finland, 66% of firms use AI, the highest share in the European Union.
  • Lithuanian and Greek firms are actively addressing the physical risks of climate change, with 72% of Lithuanian and 71% of Greek firms acting to address those risks.
  • Spanish firms show strong climate engagement, with 75% investing to cut emissions or tackle climate impacts.
